Meet Genevieve

I am Genevieve, a French-Australian counsellor and art therapist with over 20 years of training and clinical experience. My approach brings together a depth of psychological knowledge, creative exploration and a genuine belief in the human capacity for healing and transformation.

My journey into the world of therapy began in France. Whilst studying psychiatric nursing, I met an inspiring teacher who introduced me to the psychological concepts of Carl Jung. The ideas he brought to us, especially the Collective Unconscious, the Archetypes and the healing potential of Symbolic Imagery, sparked in me a lifelong fascination with the relationship between the psyche, creativity and the human experience.

Years later, I completed a Master's degree in Psychodynamic Art Therapy in Australia. Since then, I have facilitated art therapy and therapeutic groups in mental health settings, as well as working in private practice.

My own journey of personal growth and development has also shaped the therapist I am today. Through years of exploring experiential therapies and undertaking further professional training, I have developed an integrative approach that draws on the modalities I find most meaningful and effective.

In my practice, I weave together Emotion-Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy for Complex Trauma, Schema Therapy and a range of mindfulness-based practices. This allows me to tailor the therapeutic process to each person's unique experiences, needs and circumstances.

I specialise in supporting people navigating complex emotional and psychological challenges, particularly when difficult life experiences have left them feeling disconnected, overwhelmed or uncertain about their sense of meaning, direction and hope.

My therapeutic style is warm, direct and open. I offer a space where you can feel heard, understood and supported, while exploring the patterns and experiences that may be holding you back.

Above all, my commitment is to help you reconnect with yourself, rediscover a sense of trust and possibility, and cultivate a renewed appreciation for the beauty, meaning and love that life can hold.
